We are very pleased to announce that three of our pupils have successfully completed a course at Watford Fire Station. They spent the week learning how to work exactly like the firemen do; running out hoses to put out a mock fire, rescuing people from the first floor of a “burning” building using breathing apparatus and parading in the correct manner. Also during the week they used cutting gear to remove the top from a “crashed” car to rescue the occupants, were blindfolded to walk through a smoke filled room and practised basic first aid. Our students took on board valuable life skills; team work, communication skills and time keeping. The course helped to improve their self -esteem and confidence in themselves and others that nothing is beyond their reach if they put the effort in to reach their goal.
