What is Gifted and Talented?
The Bushey Academy has adopted the terminology used by the DfE and Ofsted namely “gifted and talented”, “Gifted” refers to academic excellence and “talented” to creative excellence, e.g. in music, art, design and PE.
At the academy, Gifted and talented are identified as the 5-10% of students deemed most able and each year group will be represented. The academy also focuses on more able students who do not necessarily fit in these boundaries but who can excel when challenged effectively.
