The Purcell School

Over the last few weeks key stage three students from the academy have been working with year 11 students from The Purcell School. The Purcell School for Young Musicians is the oldest specialist music school in the UK and our students have been benefiting from some coaching and collaboration with some of the most talented students in the country. The project will culminate in a performance on the 14th of March at the Purcell schools’ recital hall. Below are some of the coaches comments:

“We are working on a piece that jumps around in time, made up of fragments from well-known pieces. We will start with a very contemporary piece by Ed Sheeran, then there will be the William Tell Overture, then Beethoven’s 5th Symphony, then Shostakovich Cello Concerto, then finally some Bach.”

“It was great meeting you and I look forward to unlocking your huge ability. Looking forward to next week.”

“You are making wonderful progress and I’m really proud of youSee you later on today! Well done so far!”
